Household Hazardous Waste

Unfortunately, SSWI cannot take Household Hazardous Waste (HHW).  Keep Sevier Beautiful operates a facility site for collection. HHW is collected at the Sevier County Household Hazardous Waste Facility (943 Centerview Road, Sevierville, TN).  For more information, please email Keep Sevier Beautiful at KSB6677@yahoo.com or call at (865) 774-6677.

***Note: this is for residential drop off only.  Any commercial waste will not be accepted.

The acceptable items that can be dropped off include:

AUTOMOTIVE AND MARINE PRODUCTS

• oil and fuel additives

• grease and rust solvents, naval jelly

• carburetor and fuel injector cleaners

• starter fluids

• body putty

• antifreeze/coolant

• gasoline

• used motor oil

• automotive/marine/equipment batteries

HOME MAINTENANCE/IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS

• used strippers and thinners

• adhesives

• driveway sealant

• roofing tar

• wallpaper remover

• paints, stains and varnishes

MEDICAL/BIOLOGICAL

• Needles and sharps (must be in a puncture-proof container)

HOME LAWN AND GARDEN PRODUCTS

• pesticides and fertilizers

• wood preservatives

MISCELLANEOUS

• electronics

• pool chemicals

• photo processing chemicals

• medications/drugs

• aerosols/compressed gas

• mercury thermostats and thermometers

• fluorescent tubes

• compact fluorescent bulbs

• rechargeable batteries

• helium/propane tanks

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS

• infectious wastes

• dead animals

• any waste from a doctor's or veterinarian's office

• fireworks

• gun powder

• ammunition

• smoke detectors

• radium paint

• automotive gas tanks

• laboratory chemicals

• cooking oil

• alkaline batteries

• oxygen cylinders
